Our Story
The story of Jolly HOMESCHOOL began in the 2015/2016 school year. At that time, we started educating children as an institution providing an individual form of primary education. Our experience with teaching English using the Jolly Phonics method, introduced to Slovakia by the school’s founder, helped raise awareness of high-quality English education. We became part of the international Montessori school movement with extended English language instruction. Our teachers have been educated at the Association Montessori International (AMI), whose certified teachers are sought after worldwide. The process of being included in the network of schools of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic was long and demanding, but perseverance and patience allowed us to become a Private Primary School Jolly HOMESCHOOL officially included in the school network from the 2020/2021 school year. By being registered in the school network, we became a fully recognized school providing education for both primary and lower secondary levels.
Our mission is to create a space where responsible future adults grow—individuals who will bring positive change to society.
Since the founding of Private Primary School Jolly HOMESCHOOL, our path and goal have been to be an educational institution where the school and parents approach a child’s education as partners. Together, they create an exceptional developmental environment for children aged 3–15, where the most valuable aspects of humanity—wisdom and knowledge of the world and society—meet kindness, courtesy, mutual respect, and hardworking hands capable of improving their surroundings. Our teaching approach focuses on cultivating and maintaining a love for learning while deepening wisdom, kindness, a sense of beauty, and responsibility. We guide children to develop self-control, use their strengths and talents, and shape their lives in a way that brings them a sense of personal fulfillment.
Our Vision for the Next 10 Years
By 2032, we will establish a spacious campus by the water and beneath the mountains, offering endless inspiration from nature. We will provide education to 130 young people aged 3–15, across three three-year cycles. Our diverse team will consist of 20 people who have the opportunity to find their place where they feel valued and useful. We will continuously support and emphasize strong partnership between the school and parents.
